Hole # 9

465 Yards   Par...5

# 9 "Crossings"

The second of the Courses two par 5's.

Though the green is accessible in two shots by the long hitter, even greater accuracy is required on both shots as two creeks cross the fairway...the first at 200 yards off the tee, the second 30 yards short of the green.

                          Crossing over the 1st Creek

Carrying the creek on the second shot is not the only challenge to attempting a long approach to this green.  The severe back to front slope makes getting "up & down" extremely challenging for shots finishing left, right, or beyond the green.  There is also out of bonds left and a thick treeline in close proximity of the green.

Aside from the creeks, out of bounds run the full length of the hole on both sides making accuracy extremely important regardless of length off the tee.  This is where the ladies get a break as the right side from the tee to the first creek is point of entry for them.

The positioning of the creeks make this a natural three shotter for most players.

Because of the severe green  slope from back to front any approaches, finishing above the daily hole location, are subject to extremely challenging breaks and speed across and down this slope.

The path leading to # 10 tee is a pleasant nature trail crossing Hays Creek and throught the dense local tree-line.  This experience is a good opporturnity to "smell the roses" and put the mind in a good frame to face the challenges of pleasurable excitement awaiting one on the back nine.
