   Hole # 3

380 Yards  Par...4

#3 "A good walk enhanced"

"A good walk enhanced" is a parallel reference to the walking nature path running throught the left tree line along Oldfield Creek.  The path follows the creek up to The Oldfield Creek Fish Hatchery.

An extremely challenging par 4 of 380 Yards that only long  hitters have a good chance of getting a clear view of the approach shot.

A large hill bisects this fairway much like the first and offers the player a choice driving straight up to the top or left down into the flats.

The hazards and advantages of these choices mirror those of number one with both O.B. and preferred angle of approach on the left side. Classic risk / reward strategic decision.

The green slopes slightly right to left with a high lipped bunker protecting the front and right side.  It also slopes severely from the back to front. This orientation makes an approach from the left side of the fairway preferable.

Approach shots failing to get on the putting surface should not be missed right, left, or long.  All three areas make up and down recovery doubtful.

Like the first hole, a prudent lay-up short and straight on to the green provides the best opportunity for control of a pitch or chip shot and chance at an up and down.

Putting on this green can be extremely challenging.  The prudent and conservative player who keeps their ball below the hole at all times will be rewarded with a better chance to sink the putt.
