#1 “Decisions”
Decisions start at the tee. There are three basic options.
Drive to the top of the hill on the right and hopefully to the top of the hill, providing a downhill approach to the green and an excellent view of the pin placement.
Drive straight down left side. This is the shortest distance to the green and provides best angle of approach for control into the right to left contoured green. Caution should be practiced as left tree-line is out of bounds.
Drive toward corner of hill and play for right to left roll down into the flats.
The approach shot may also involve dicisions.
Old Field Creek crosses the hole 25 yards short of the green. A prudent lay-up shot short of this hazard has proven a wise choice for may low handicappers in the past who did not hit their best tee shot that day.
This layup is standard procedure for many wise players who realize they have a handicap stroke to play with here on this the #3 handicap hole.
Crossing over Oldfield Creek to the green

Approach shots targeted at the green often miss their intended target. The "short side", or more difficult side to get up and down from is the right side. This because of the previously indicated strong right to left cantor of the green.
Though it is much easier to control results of the chip or pitch shot from the left side, the player should also be aware of O.B. at the left tree-line.
The putting green.
The player should be aware of the subtle, yet obvious strong natural slope of the green toward Hays Creek to the left of the green.
