  Club Professional Moe Hays

Moe took up duties at the Prince Rupert Golf Course in 1972.  A CPGA Professional since 1967, Moe is now one of the senior Club Professionals in Canada and shares the notoriety with a handful of others for the longest tenure at one club. Moe's love of golf started in Penticton in 1958 since that time golf has been his only work and watching and talking about baseball his only hobby.

Moe arrived at The Prince Rupert Golf Course when it was expanding to a full eighteen holes and the clubhouse and Pro shop facilities were being upgraded.

In addition to coordinating a well run Pro Shop, Moe has acquired a reputation for excellent instruction.  His indoor golf lesson series, offered every spring at the local recreation centre, have introduced many people to the game and given them a good grounding in the fundamentals of golf.

Moe was named the "Head Professional of the Year" by the BCPGA in 2003.

"Making Golf a better game" is a slogan Moe likes to follow.

Superintendent  Gerry Casavant

Gerry came to the Prince Rupert Golf Course in 2002.

Gerry has 26 years experience in the golf maintenance industry.  10 years of those as a superintendent.  He also spent 2 years as a full time student of Turf Grass Management Technology, graduating from Fairview College in 1984.  He is a class "A" member of both the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.  He continues to be active in Professional Development, attending annual CGSA conferences and education programs.

Along with being responsible for keeping our Course in great shape he is also an avid single digit handicap golfer and studies the game extensively.

 Cali the Course Mascot

Moe and wife Pams dog Cali was a long time member at our Course, although she doesn't swing a club she was a great retriver of golf balls.

She could be seen on a regular basis out with Moe doing duties around the course.

Although timid in nature she could be persuaded with treats and members used to carry them in their golf bags just for her. Cali died in 2010.
